The Vietnamese Youth and Student Festival in Europe is an annual event organized by the young Vietnamese community across the continent. Rotating among different European countries, the festival attracts up to 150 participants each year from 27 nations across Europe.
The very first summer camp was held in the Czech Republic under the name Meeting Prague 2007, followed by the 2008 edition in Russia. Since 2015, the Festival has become a recognized annual tradition, hosted in a range of countries: Germany (Sividuc, 2015), France (Lumos, 2016), Czech Republic (Vietheart, 2017), Hungary (Duna, 2018), the Netherlands (VYS, 2019), Czech Republic (Vietheart, 2022), France (Lumos Futura, 2023), and Germany (Dasein, 2024).
Over more than a decade, the Festival has solidified its role as a vital platform for connecting Vietnamese youth and students, fostering a strong, united, and promising generation. More than just a vibrant and creative gathering, the Festival serves as a bridge linking young Vietnamese abroad to their cultural roots.
In 2025, the Vietnamese Student Association in Hungary is honored to host the 11th edition of the Festival. This year’s event carries special significance, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary, as well as the 75th anniversary of Vietnam’s Student and Youth Day. In celebration of these historic milestones, the 2025 Festival promises to further strengthen the spirit of cooperation between the two nations and deepen connections among Vietnamese student communities throughout Europe.
The 11th Vietnamese Youth and Student Festival in Europe will take participants on a unique journey under the theme “Time Museum”, where cultural values, memories, and identities are preserved and connected across generations.
DunaCamp will serve as a vibrant space where the past, present, and future of the young Vietnamese community in Europe converge. Here, each camper becomes a “cultural explorer,” embarking on a journey to discover the rich heritage of both Vietnam and Hungary - from music, language, and art to the spirit of unity and the drive for global integration.
Guided by the legendary Turul bird - a mythical creature symbolizing protection and guidance in Hungarian culture - the program seeks to ignite a deep sense of pride in one’s roots while inspiring the younger generation to move forward with resilience and confidence as they integrate into the world and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
